"Journalists and Civil Liberties Groups including the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) have been calling attention to several efforts by the Trump administration, Senate and Congress to interfere with our right to free expression and privacy on the internet. With the exception of the Net Neutrality issue, these efforts are not getting enough media attention, yet they are not at all trivial. For many of us, the internet is much more than a source of entertainment, it is also our primary source for news, information and analysis of political and social issues. For this article we highlight four specific areas of concern, Net Neutrality, the Cloud Act, the end of legal protections for hosts of user-generated content and the growing practice of searching people’s computers and phones..."
