Remembering Craig "Bonzo" Bonner, leader of the Bankrupt $ugar Daddies and the Boobs

Sadly, we lost another great San Francisco Bay Area musician and human being in 2016. Craig died in late December after several years of fighting cancer. He was an excellent song writer, vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist. I greatly enjoyed and appreciated the times I got to play music with him during the last year. He was great company, an excellent musician/song writer, had a great sense of humor and was a very positive presence.

Craig “Bonzo” Bonner was born Craig Olen Boner in Ventura California January 7th, 1960. (He added the extra N to his last name after looking the word boner up in Websters in first grade) His love of music, work ethic and sales intuition propelled Craig from fish markets, selling women’s shoes and waiting tables to Lake Tahoe, where he met Maurine, the first woman who could tolerate and find solace in his quirky behaviour. After marrying her, Craig became a sales, recruiting and management professional and continued to play music.
